Let's get strange, baby - today's episode of the Movie Quest podcast focuses on 2016's Doctor Strange!
I'm not sure whether I'm shocked or not, but (SPOILER) this was Julianne's favorite MCU film so far, and she rated it an astounding 9.5 Cummerbunds! In addition to this rating, Julianne and I ask critical questions like:
It would seem that Julianne's only criticism of the film is that they didn't show Dr. Strange bargaining with Dormammu enough - Apparently she wanted truly endless loops. YA HEAR THAT, DERRICKSON!?!?
We are SO CLOSE to wrapping up Phase 3 of the MCU - next up in our series is one of my all-time favorites: Taikia Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok. Keep an eye peeled for more dumb stuff right here at Nerd-Nexus.com and even dumber stuff on social media at @Nerd.Nexus on Instagram and at @NerdNexus on Twitter.
When I first told Julianne that Spider-Man appears in the MCU, she responded with something like "...oh, Tobey Maguire!?!" I've spent my life trying to convince her that there's a new Spider-Man in town...no, not Andrew Garfield! TOM HOLLAND! He's a star, and he's the star of Spider-Man: Homecoming! Welcome to Episode 15 of the Movie Quest Podcast!
Thanks for listening! We're getting super close to the end of Phase 3 of the MCU - the next episode of the podcast features 2016's Doctor Strange - stay tuned!

Have a listen as two incredibly white people talk about one of the most important films in not only Black Cinema's history, but maybe ALL of cinema history: 2018's Black Panther!
#WAKANDAFOREVER
This one was easy. It was easy to record, easy watch, and it's easy to listen back to as I edit. As I mention in the podcast, Black Panther is not the next movie in the chronological, real-life sequence of the MCU; we should have watched Doctor Strange, but Julianne and I were just too damn stoked about this movie - we had to skip ahead!

I know, I know...you've been waiting for the latest episode of the MOVIE QUEST Podcast for an inordinate amount of time. I freely admit that it's been too long since I published an episode, but I have a good reason: my podcast co-host is NOW MY WIFE! We got married! Anyway, enough of the mushy stuff - let's talk about Episode 12: Captain America: Civil War!
Captain America: Civil War is the beginning of MCU's Phase 3, so there's a lot to talk about! Julianne and I discuss:

Also, Julianne cannot tell the difference between "Mohawk Blue Guy Who Whistles," "Blue Hellboy," and Thanos. So that's fun.

Generally-speaking, anyone who is familiar with the MCU is likely aware that Thor: The Dark World is widely-regarded as the worst film in the Marvel catalogue - I'm here to tell you that maybe that's not true! This movie has it all: #FashionDungeons, AAA cannons, flying Viking skiffs, Portal Goofin' in London, and Jane Foster with "the goo inside her."
WHO'S READY TO ENTER THE #FashionDungeon?!?!
