NerdBliss

We of The NerdBliss Podcast are from a cartoon generation. We got to see the golden age and the end of Saturday morning cartoons. We had the best after-school shows that anyone could ask for. We dedicated this episode to our favorite memories of the cartoons we loved (and a couple that we didn't).

If you follow this show and are seeing this as a new episode post, you’re probably very tired of hearing about COVID-19 by now. Honestly, we sincerely hope you’re not looking BACK on this episode as a record of the time before civilization fell. As of March 2020, many have died of COVID-19 around the world, with hundreds of thousands of people confirmed as having the virus. These are scary times, and we give voice to some of our specific fears in this episode. We also talk about how we are coping and staying positive during “social distancing” and self-imposed quarantine in our homes.

This show was recorded on 10-20-2019.

Show Topics:

• Voice to text
• Bell-bottoms or flares? Pre-distressed jeans.
• The benefits of pantyhose.
• The science of perversion and kink / vanilla shaming
• The need for outside validation
• Facebook interactions
• Vince McMahon, WWE, and classic wrestling
• The sinister circumstances of Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain

We take a stab at figuring out the deal with Birds of Prey: The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn. We'll go ahead and tell you here that those of us that saw the movie enjoyed it. In fact, most people that we heard from liked the movie. So what are the real reasons for its modest box office take? Also, would you like us to talk about Cartoon Network's DC Super Hero Girls? Also, since season one of The Mandalorian has all been released, what do you do with your Disney+ subscription? We have some suggestions! But do not think we actually kept the entire show on topic. We finish with a geeky stream of consciousness that covers voice acting, Transformers, The Toys That Made Us, Supaidaman, and more! #nerdblisspodcast #ESOnetwork

After a segment of free-associative conversation that goes from The Mandalorian to Kevin Smith to He-Man and Skeletor. We then focus the rest of the episode on the series finale of BoJack Horseman. We were pretty emotionally invested in BoJack's fate. How did we handle the outcome? Listen and find out. Call or text us 24/7 at (864) 715-9446 and leave us feedback on this or any other episode. Our deep and sincere love for Sir Patrick Stewart begins the second part of our discussion of Star Trek: Picard. We were two episodes in at the time we recorded this episode. We revisit the classic sticking points of the Star Trek fandom. Are angry fans simply mourning the loss of their youth? This dovetails into a discussion of the evolution of classic bands Red Hot Chili Peppers and Faith No More. Then there's Eminem. Does Marshall still Mathers? We definitely think so.

The wait is finally over, and Star Trek: Picard is finally here! After a brief interchange about Schitt's Creek and Eugene Levy's eyebrows, we dive deep into a nerdy stream of consciousness about Picard, Romulans, Data, synthetic lifeforms, the Borg, profanity, and much, much more!

Strap yourself in, Major Tom. This episode makes about as much sense as the existence of The U.S, Space Force. In the wake of two major episodes about Star Wars related stuff, we wring just a little more blood out of the Star Wars turnip and then hit upon topics that include The World According To Jeff Goldblum, Dolly Parton, Seth Macfarlane's move to NBC, Screwball peanut butter whiskey, and the live-action Aladdin. We then discuss the absurdity known as the U.S. Space Force.

The Skywalker saga has ended, for better or worse. No need in putting off the inevitable any longer. We give our thoughts on The Rise of Skywalker. What did we like? What didn't we like? Was it a fitting farewell to Carrie Fisher? Did J.J. try to undo The Last Jedi? You may or may not agree with us, but here is our verdict.

This session was recorded on 12/29/2019. In this episode, we continue our discussion of The Mandalorian after the first season finale aired. But before we get to that, Tina and Chris talk about seeing Cats The Movie. As a fan of the original London stage show, Chris has some rather strong feelings about this movie as well as its overall reception. Only then do you get to hear our thoughts on all that Mandalorian goodness.

CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE MANDALORIAN, SEASON 1
