Welcome back beautiful nerds to another episode with a much fuller cast than last time. This time around we got to talking about our most anticipated projects of 2021; before that as always, we had some news to talk about. In lightning round this week we talked about Sonic 2 beginning filming soon, Tomb Raider 2 being written by Lovecraft Country’s Misha Green, Vicarious Visions being bought out by Blizzard, as well as other news that may pique your interest. In straight up news we talked extensively about the recent Godzilla vs. Kong trailer (which has one of our castmates very excited). In addition, we talked about the recently announced delays which include Nobody, No Time to Die, and A Quiet Place II among others. With news out of the way let's get into the topic. This may ruffle a few feathers here and there but we thought it would be interesting to visit this topic since we know many actors. We’ll see which ones are top tier actors who get into character like no other and which ones have fallen off the rails. We also discussed the bid for the dev studio Codemasters nearing its end as Take Two pulls out its bid. Now with news finally over let’s talk about the actual topic Soul. As many people know this movie came out on Christmas, the same day as Wonder Woman 1984, and for anyone wondering which one was better there is no competition. Soul was a fantastic movie whether you look at its characters, cinematography, music, or story. First in the lightning round, we talked about The Mad Max Prequel Furiosa being announced, Epic Games purchasing a shipping mall to build their home campus, WandaVision having 9 episodes, and more!. As for straight up news, the only news we had there was all DC related. DC has been talking about a lot of things regarding their extended universe and not all of it seems to be making complete sense. Hopefully they’ll be able to sort that out, but in the meantime let’s get into this week’s topic! As stated this week we talked about our favorite fictional weapons. You may think this made it a very shallow episode, but on the contrary this made us think about these items and their wielders quite a bit. That’s all I’ll say for now. When recording this episode we realized just how much had happened this week. Instead of rushing through it and not given each piece of news the attention it deserved we decided to dedicate the episode to them. That being said, in lightning round this week we talked about quite a few things including Christan Bale being Gorr the God Butcher, Raya and the Last Dragon premiering 3/12/21, the Game of the Year winner, as well as other news that you’ll have to listen to, to find out. As for the big boys, this week we focused on Sephiroth being announced as the next DLC character is Smash, the release of Cyberpunk 2077, and all the announcements we got for Disney’s 2020 Investors Day. We had a bunch of different announcements from Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney. We were especially excited to learn more about Obi-Wan Keonobi, Ahsoka, WandaVision, and Loki. We can’t wait to see all of the things that were announced, and we’re guessing you can’t either. As you can see we were very excited to do our second retrospective episode, but before that we had some news. In the lightning round this week we talked about Oscar Issac being cast as Solid Snake, the new iCarly revival being announced, Gamestop closing over 700 stores, along with other smaller but important things. For straight up news we talked about how Warner Brothers will be releasing their upcoming movies on HBO Max as they release in theaters, Nintendo’s newest debacles with fan projects, as well as the announcements for Spider-Man 3 casting. With that all being said let’s talk about the episode for a bit. As you may remember from last episode, this retrospective was a bit different because not everyone was able to watch the show. This time the two people who did not watch the show asked the others questions, so they could understand the show well enough without watching it. As for straight up news, this week we first talked about the issues around the streaming rights with Chappelle's Show. After that we got into the production of Black Panther 2 and what that spells out for the mantle going forward. After that we discussed the spontaneous launch of VShojo, a VTuber talent agency. And lastly, we talked about Hailee Steinfeld being “confirmed” as Kate Bishop in the upcoming Hawkeye Disney+ series. That was everything we could scavenge through for this week’s episode.
