Checking in with our nervous system is the first step in pivoting our perspective about health and wellness. A flared up nervous system takes little to no input to send the pain signal, or signals that tell your body it is time to rest. For instance, high blood pressure, migraines, body parts that ache, or fatigue are all ways that your nervous system is trying to protect you.
A flared up nervous system is typically flooded with cortisol, a stress hormone. This sends your body into fight or flight mode, and our goal is to get back to rest and digest. Here are some side effects from living with increased cortisol for a long period of time:
Fatigue
Mood Swings
Appetite Changes
Disrupted Sleep
Difficulty Concentrating
Difficulty Completing Projects
Low Libido
Depression
