The New England Patriots defense has not been playing up to their full potential. It's saying something when the team leader in interceptions has just two and it's already Week 12. Oh, and that leader was linebacker Jamie Collins before he was shipped off to the Cleveland Browns. Now, Malcolm Butler, Patrick Chung and Duron Harmon lead the pack with one interception a piece. That's right, the Patriots have five total interceptions on the season. Take away Collins' two and the Patriots would land in a three-way tie with the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars for dead last in the league. Needless to say, these guys aren't exactly making things any easier on their offense. A few key turnovers could be just the boost they need to get rolling in the right direction and what better opponent to start with than the New York Jets? In this edition of "Between the Tackles," NESN.com's Michaela Vernava, Doug Kyed and Zack Cox discuss how the Patriots D can get back on track during their upcoming divisional matchup against Jets quarterback and turnover machine Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Plus, with Thanksgiving upon us, the BTT crew ponders the real burning questions. Which Patriot can eat the most turkey? And does the Brady-family feast include more than just whole grains and avocado ice cream?!
Also, New York Post NFL writer Bart Hubbuch joins the conversation, discussing his opinion on Tom Brady's recent play, the current state of the Jets and possible landing spots for Tony Romo.
