Although human adoption is good, right and necessary, the deepest foundation of adoption is located not in the act of humans adopting humans, but in God adopting humans. And this act is at the heart of the gospel.

Daniel frequently faced temptation to compromise his belief and avoid the threat of suffering and death. However, he chose ordinary faithfulness in the midst of his trials. Jesus faced that too – he knew the path he was on was heading straight to an agonizing crucifixion. Yet that's what He chose.

The first response of to the holiness of God is an acute awareness of personal sin. When the unholy confronts the holy we become very conscious of our own sinfulness and should be in awe of the weight of God's glory.

David is not praying in this Psalm, he is not asking God to do something for him. Rather he is rejoicing in what the Lord has done and continues to do in his life.

Righteousness does not mean that you are always doing the right thing. Often times, righteousness is seen in how you respond when you realize that you didn't do the right thing.

Jesus is greater than our money because everything under heaven and earth is His. The believer in Christ whose heart has been transformed by the power of the gospel understands the incredible responsibility of stewarding their resources in order to fulfill God's purposes.

As a means of pointing to the resurrection power that would one day come through Jesus; the Old Testament prophet, Elisha, gives us a picture of what it looks like to be hidden in Christ.

The only thing worse than sin itself, is trying to cover your sin as if it's not there. The beauty of the gospel of Jesus, is that it frees us to not walk in shame as we acknowledge our failures and brokenness.

Jesus says "I can satisfy your hunger and quench your thirst. He tells us that He is the the resurrection and the life, the light of the world, and everything other than Him leads to death. Why? Because as the creator of all things, He is greater.
