Renewed on Dry Ground

SERIES

Renewal

DATE

SPEAKER

Trevor Richt

SCRIPTURE READING

Exodus 14:5–8

SUMMARY

This sermon explores the story of the Israelites trapped between Pharaoh's pursuing army and the Red Sea. When faced with overwhelming problems, we must learn to be still, trust God, and realize that He provides a path forward—often providing resolve and 'dry ground' rather than removing our difficulties completely. Listeners are encouraged to keep moving forward in faith, trusting in God's continuous provision.

KEY POINTS

• Fear can easily overpower our judgment when we face mounting life problems, causing us to lose sight of God's power.

• God requires us to 'be still' and let Him fight our battles rather than attempting to keep control ourselves.

• God often resolves our problems by providing dry ground to walk through rather than removing the challenge entirely.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION

1. How is God currently providing 'dry ground' for you to get through a difficult problem you are facing?

2. In what areas of your life are you holding onto control instead of being still and letting God fight for you?

SCRIPTURE READING

Genesis 12:1–8

SUMMARY

Beginning his ministry at Netherwood Park, Trevor Richt reflects on Abram’s call in Genesis 12 to step out in faith into the unknown. The sermon highlights that when God calls His people to go, they never travel alone—they are accompanied by community and guided by God’s constant presence. Listeners are encouraged to move forward together as a church family and trust God's direction in every area of life.

KEY POINTS

• Embracing the Call to Go: Abram surrendered his familiar home, family, and inheritance to obey God’s call into an unknown land.

• We Do Not Go Alone: Going on a faith journey involves the support of family and the church community walking alongside us.

• God Goes With Us: Throughout Scripture—from Moses and Joshua to Gideon and the Great Commission—God continually promises His presence to those He sends.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION

1. Where might God be calling you to "go" or step out in faith this week, and how can you rely more fully on His presence and church family as you take that step?
