1 Corinthians 4:1–5
SERMON SCRIPTURES CITED
John 3:19–21; 1 John 1:5–10; 1 John 2:1–2; John 3:16–18; John 3:1–15
SUMMARY
Every person will eventually stand in divine judgment, where all hidden sins will be fully exposed by God's light. However, God did not send Jesus into the world to condemn us, but to act as our advocate and Savior. By confessing our sins, being baptized, and walking in the light, we can approach judgment with confidence rather than fear.
KEY POINTS
• Exposition in the Light: Jesus came as the light to expose darkness and sin, meaning no secret deed or motive remains hidden from God.
• Jesus as Our Divine Advocate: Though evidence of our sin makes us guilty, Jesus serves as our righteous advocate (paracletos) who paid our penalty on the cross.
• Salvation Over Condemnation: God's intent through Christ is rescue and eternal life, requiring believers to active faith, confession, and baptism.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
1. What hidden areas or unconfessed sins in your life need to be brought into Christ's forgiving light?
2. How does having Jesus as your advocate change your perspective on final judgment?

SERMON SCRIPTURES CITED
John 3:16–21; Exodus 4; Galatians 4:4–5; John 1:12; 1 John 3:1; 1 John 4:9–10; Genesis 1
SUMMARY
God's foundational posture toward humanity is that of a loving Father who views us not for our brokenness, but for who we can become through Him. Even though He foresaw all the opposition and suffering His Son would endure, God chose to send Jesus to earth as the ultimate sacrifice for our salvation. Understanding this unmerited, endless love invites us to rejoice in our adoption as His children.
KEY POINTS
• God as Our Heavenly Father: Throughout Scripture, believers are described as adopted sons and daughters of God, entitled to His provision, care, and infinite love.
• Love That Sees Potential in Brokenness: Just as a buyer values property for what it can become, God sees past our sins and imperfections to redeem us through His Son.
• The Unconditional Choice of God: God loved the world first, sending Jesus to die for all humanity long before we ever sought or loved Him.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
1. How does viewing God primarily as a loving Father alter your daily approach to prayer and worship?
2. Knowing God willingly offered His Son for you, how can you better demonstrate that unconditional love to those around you?

John 15:15; Colossians 2:2–3
SERMON SCRIPTURES CITED
Genesis (formation from dirt); Exodus 26; Exodus 31:1–6; Hebrews 9:11; 2 Corinthians 12:9
SUMMARY
While sin introduced harmful brokenness into the world, there are also "innocent imperfections"—messiness, uncertainty, and physical limitations—that God purposefully designed into the universe. Rather than expecting formulaic precision, God calls us to accept life's natural mysteries and rely on His guidance. Our limited abilities and incomplete answers are intended to draw us closer to Jesus, whose strength is made perfect in our weakness.
KEY POINTS
• Distinguishing Sin from Innocent Imperfections: Imperfections caused by sin are contrary to God's desire, whereas innocent imperfections—such as weather changes, physical limitations, and life's uncertainties—were intentionally planned by God.
• Life as a Mystery to Live, Not a Puzzle to Solve: Human life is not meant to operate by a rigid formula or exact calculations. God leaves many of life's details open-ended to cultivate faith rather than certainty.
• Weakness Points to God's Grace: Human messiness and limitations are not failures in design; they highlight our dependence on Christ, whose power and grace are perfected in our weakness.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
1. In what areas of your life are you exhausting yourself trying to find formulaic certainty instead of trusting God through faith?
2. How can embracing life's "innocent imperfections" help you appreciate God's grace and maintain humility with others?

SERMON SCRIPTURES CITED
Galatians 2:20, 1 Corinthians 10:12, Hebrews 11:25, James 1:13–17, 1 Corinthians 10:13, James 4:7, 1 John 1:7, 9
SUMMARY
Sin promises immediate gratification but comes with a steep deferred cost, operating much like a credit card. Believers must maintain daily self-examination to avoid spiritual lukewarmness, fence-straddling, and societal complacency. Though temptation is inevitable, God promises a way of escape and offers continual forgiveness and cleansing when we walk in the light and confess our sins.
KEY POINTS
• The Illusion of Sin: Sin offers temporary pleasure now but exacts a high price later; we must not deceive ourselves by straddling the fence with worldly standards.
• Daily Self-Examination: Faithful living requires examining our actions daily against Scripture rather than relying on past habits or public appearance.
• Assurance of Escape and Forgiveness: God never tempts us and always provides a way out; when we stumble, confessing our sins brings continual cleansing through Christ's blood.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
1. Are there areas in your life where you have compromised or "straddled the fence" with worldly standards?
2. When faced with temptation, do you actively look for the "way of escape" God provides, or do you entertain the short-term pleasure?

Ezekiel 47:3–6
SERMON SCRIPTURES CITED
Isaiah 25, Acts 27, Ezekiel 47:1–12, Genesis 1:1–2, Revelation 22:1–5, 1 Corinthians 3:16
SUMMARY
Drawing from Ezekiel’s vision of life-giving water flowing from the temple, this sermon compares God's Word to a river that deepens as we walk further into it. While life without God is spiritually dead, immersion in His truth brings spiritual health, renewal, and healing. Believers are encouraged to wade deeper into God's Word—moving from ankle-deep engagement to fully "swimming" in His grace—and to let that life flow out to others.
KEY POINTS
• The Life-Giving Power of God’s Word: Just as Ezekiel's vision restored the Dead Sea, God's Word transforms spiritual deadness into vibrant life.
• Diving Deeper in Faith: Growth in the Christian walk involves moving from ankle-deep or knee-deep involvement to fully diving into the depths of Scripture and faith.
• Flowing Out to Others: As temples of God’s Spirit, our lives should allow the trickle of God's living water to flow out and invite others to experience Him.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
1. How deep are you currently wading in God’s Word—ankle-deep, waist-deep, or fully swimming?
2. What steps can you take to let God's life-giving truth flow out of you to impact people around you?

SERMON SCRIPTURES CITED
Philippians 2:19–24, Philippians 2:25–30
SUMMARY
Raising the next generation in faith requires the dedicated involvement of both parents and a fully invested church community. Drawing from Paul's commendations of Timothy and Epaphroditus, the sermon highlights the importance of being quality role models and mentors. To protect children from worldly confusion, believers must invest time and intentional effort to model a godly life.
KEY POINTS
• Be the Parent Your Child Needs: Parents must put God at the center of their homes and break negative generational cycles to give their children a faithful future.
• Invest, Don't Just Be Interested: Good churches do not merely express occasional interest in youth; they actively invest time, energy, and relationships into shaping them.
• Surround Kids with the Best Models: Like Paul sending trusted companions like Timothy and Epaphroditus, we must surround the young generation with godly influences.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
1. How can you move from being merely "interested" in the church’s youth to actively "invested" in their spiritual growth?
2. What kind of spiritual model are you providing for the children and young people in your family and congregation?

Philippians 3:1–6
SERMON SCRIPTURES CITED

SUMMARY
While many people accumulate head knowledge about Jesus, true salvation requires moving that truth into our hearts to transform how we live. Paul considered all worldly titles and achievements garbage compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Christ. The sermon challenges listeners to travel the "greatest distance"—the twelve to sixteen inches from the head to the heart—and daily press on toward the goal of living a converted life.
KEY POINTS
• Head Knowledge vs. Heart Conversion: Merely knowing facts about Jesus is not enough; true faith requires converting our hearts so that His teachings shape our actions.
• Length Does Not Equal Strength: Following Christ for decades does not automatically mean mature faith if we stop growing and pressing toward the goal.
• Bridging the Greatest Distance: The 12-to-16-inch distance between the head and the heart is the most crucial journey in our walk with God.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
1. Has your relationship with Jesus remained mostly as head knowledge, or is it actively transforming your daily heart choices?
2. What old titles, achievements, or habits do you need to let go of so you can press forward toward knowing Christ more deeply?

SCRIPTURE READING
Proverbs 2:1–8
SERMON SCRIPTURES CITED
Philippians 2:12–18, Numbers 15:5–12, Philippians 2:1–4
SUMMARY
In a world consumed by being number one, Christians are called to adopt a Christ-centered mindset focused on sacrificial service rather than self-glory. Drawing on Paul’s example of being poured out like a drink offering, the sermon emphasizes that our ultimate joy comes from placing God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit first. By humbling ourselves and serving others, we willingly accept "second place" so that God receives all the glory.
KEY POINTS
• Avoid Culture-Controlled Ambition: Society urges us to focus on individual success, but seeking to be number one keeps us from being truly Christ-centered.
• Be a Drink Offering: Like Paul, we are called to pour ourselves out in sacrifice for others rather than constantly demanding that others pour into us.
• Embrace Second Place: God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit deserve first place in our lives; placing others ahead of ourselves reflects the true spirit of humility and joy in Christ.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
1. Who or what currently occupies "first place" in your daily life, decisions, and priorities?
2. In what practical ways can you "pour yourself out" as a drink offering to serve someone else this week?

Mark 9:30–35
SERMON SCRIPTURES CITED
Philippians 2:5–11, Matthew 20:20–28
SUMMARY
Trevor Richt reflects on Christ’s humble example in Philippians 2, where Jesus emptied Himself to take on the posture of a servant. The sermon points out that heavenly greatness is measured by humble service rather than seeking status or personal accolades. Believers are called to empty themselves of obstacles such as pride, selfishness, and wrong attitudes in order to serve God and others effectively.
KEY POINTS
• The Mindset of Christ: Jesus demonstrated true humility by willingly taking the nature of a servant and humbling Himself even unto death.
• Greatness Through Service: In God's kingdom, true honor and leadership belong to those who take the lowest place to serve others.
• Emptying Selfish Obstacles: Effective Christian service requires removing personal pride, bad attitudes, and self-interest to allow God's love to flow through us.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
1. What personal attitudes, pride, or distractions do you need to empty yourself of in order to serve others better?
2. In what practical ways can you adopt the mindset of Christ and serve those around you this week?

1 Corinthians 15:50–58
SERMON SCRIPTURES CITED
Philippians 1:27–30, 1 Thessalonians 4, Philippians 1:20–26
SUMMARY
Trevor Richt contrasts the worldly mindset of "You Only Live Once" (YOLO) with the biblical reality that "You Only Die Once" (YODO). Focusing on Paul's declaration that "to live is Christ, and to die is gain," the sermon challenges believers to live intentionally for God's glory. Instead of treating faith as a routine checklist, Christians are urged to maximize every opportunity to share the hope of eternal life with others.
KEY POINTS
• Living Worthy of the Gospel: A Christian's life must put God first, aligning daily conduct and choices with the teachings of Christ.
• To Live Is Christ, to Die Is Gain: Earthly life provides a purpose to serve and glorify God, while death brings the ultimate reward of eternal presence with Him.
• Beyond the Checklist: Authentic faith is not about completing a routine list of religious duties, but living out of love and urgently sharing salvation with others.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
1. Are you living your daily life to fulfill personal desires or to honor and glorify Christ?
2. How can you move past a "checklist" faith to boldly share the hope of eternal life with those around you?
