Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Nevada Weather Podcast. It's Saturday, February 17th.
Folks, Nevada is running a 29 degree temperature spread right now. That's like three different states packed into one. Southern Nevada wakes up at 35 degrees under blue skies. Not bad at all. Head north and you're feeling 15 degrees. Now drive out to Eastern Nevada and it's a brutal 6 degrees. The kind of cold that makes your truck groan when you turn the key.
Here's the deal. Winds are basically asleep everywhere. Southern Nevada sees maybe 3 miles an hour. Northern and Eastern Nevada? Barely a whisper. No snow, no rain, just bone dry air and sunshine wall to wall.
Tonight's where it gets interesting. Southern Nevada slides into the low 20s. Northern Nevada dips to single digits. And Eastern Nevada? You're looking at minus 5. That's frostbite territory if you're not bundled up. Cover every inch of skin before stepping out.
Tomorrow brings a gentle warm up. Southern Nevada climbs to 38 degrees. Northern Nevada hits 19. Eastern Nevada crawls up to 10. Still sunny, still dry.
Here's your heads up for the week ahead. High pressure is camping out over us like it paid rent. Southern Nevada stays in the mid 30s to low 40s. Northern and Eastern Nevada slowly warm, but mornings stay frosty enough to crack your windshield washer fluid. No storms anywhere on the horizon. Just a slow crawl toward longer days and warmer afternoons.
One thing worth noting. Air quality sits at moderate today, so sensitive groups might want to take it easy outdoors. And we're gaining almost 3 minutes of daylight. Sunset lands at 5:20 PM. Spring is whispering.
Alright. If you're enjoying these daily updates, share us with a neighbor. It really helps us grow.
Stay safe out there. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
