Poetry On Life

Never Enough

Listen Later

How boring how, awfully, tedious

If all we see, all day long, is our own beautiful face,

Oblivious of the insignificance of the ‘mighty me’

A little dot on the spectrum of the human race

And, the ‘me’ includes the ‘you’, the ‘us’

For, we are all the same fundamentally,

Human beings created by the Lord

Simple, but lacking in simplicity.

Unhappy, uncomfortable, in skins our own

An endless quest for some other,

someone else, something else,

Our own selves to smother.

A restless, discontented soul

Wistful sighs and seeking eyes,

Where is Heaven on my Earth

Beseeching the stars in the skies

While, peace and calm lie within

Midst the clamour and the din,

As we tread in our daily lives

On ice, all but very thin.

An enigma, in eternal form

That hounds every living soul

Man, will always be and forever

Incomplete, less than whole

Seeking, seeking, everywhere

Looking for, he knows not what,

Never enough for any one at all

That which she or he has ever got.
