This week, we're talking about two movies from cinematographer Caleb "Zooey's Dad" Deschanel: Never Look Away (2018) and Killer Joe (2011). One's a high point of the McConaissance, the other's a just-fine three hour German melodrama that was somehow nominated for three Oscars this year. SPEAKING OF OSCARS, we also talk about the one time Deschanel got an Oscar nom for Fly Away Home, the movie where Jeff Daniels and Anna Paquin teach a goose how to fly. Life is wild!
