Never Offside with Julie & Cat

Cat is joined by Sydney Martin, making her guest co-hosting debut, for an interview with Todd Schaefer, father of New York Islanders Calder Trophy-winning defenseman Matthew Schaefer. Todd shares stories about life as a hockey dad, how Matthew found a home with the Martins on Long Island and his newfound celebrity status at Islanders games. Sydney shares behind-the-scenes stories of life at home with two hockey players, including the infamous laundry story that earned Schaef a ban from the laundry room. At the end of the show, Matthew makes a special guest appearance, just before nap time.

Julie and Cat are joined by Rick Celebrini to talk about Macklin being named Captain of the San Jose Sharks, raising a family of athletes,  Draymond Green's hockey fandom and the connection between Will Smith and Macklin. He talks about his career in sports medicine, why he'd love to see Steph Curry on skates and shares a few childhood stories of Macklin.... and what led to him coining the phrase "Mack'isms". They are also joined by Nicole Fell of the Hollywood Reporter who talks about the feature she did on Macklin and Belmont Cameli from Off Campus. 

Julie and Cat are back for Season 3 and are joined by former NHLer and current ESPN analyst PK Subban who talks about the start of the 2026 season, fashion and some of his favorite players, Jack Hughes, David Pastrnak and Will Smith  He shares some incredible stories about his former teammate Carey Price and Julie gives him his props after seeing him perform karaoke this past summer. He offers up some great nuggets during "Hockey Superlatives" as he goes through his list of effortlessly cool NHL players. The girls start the episode with a little recap of their summer and they close it out with a BIG REVEAL for this upcoming season of the podcast.

Mary tells the origin of their love story, recounts a life-changing car ride that took an unexpected detour, relives the emotions of watching her husband-to-be win the Stanley Cup, spills the tea on the Cup celebration you didn’t see, and plays a Stanley Cup/Carolina Hurricanes-themed game of “Superlatives.” Julie and Cat open the show with congratulations for friend and past podcast guest Carey Price on his selection to the Hockey Hall of Fame as Julie fangirls over the possibility of an expansion team in her hometown of Houston. The ladies cap the show recounting their favorite moments from Season 2 and share an exciting announcement about the future of the podcast.

Julie and Cat are joined by Cat’s husband and San Jose Sharks forward Tyler Toffoli to recap Cat’s recent surprise birthday party in New York City. Tyler and Julie share the backstory of their devious plan, including a fake sponsor, bogus staged calls with the show’s production crew, and deliberately planted text messages, all designed to lure Cat to NYC without any hesitation only to replace trickery with a celebration. The show concludes with Tyler answering fan questions, including which teammate he’d most trust with his cell phone and his favorite goal of his career.

Super Agent Pat Brisson (9:31) stops by to talk about how he got his start as an agent and his relationships with star players like Sidney Crosby, Macklin Celebrini, Anže Kopitar and the Hughes brothers. He chats about his love of music, his Olympic experience in Milan and plays a little game of "Client Superlatives".... find out which of his clients would make a great podcast pair and why the right timing matters when talking to Nathan MacKinnon. Julie and Cat start the episode with a little discussion on this year's Playoff WAG Jackets and wrap up with a classic story about Ty and his...... feet? 

Cat is joined by the Sharks rookie tandem of Michael Misa and Sam Dickinson to talk about their first season in the NHL and tell a few amazing stories, including their "encounter" with ghosts and how one of Sam's yearbook photos, along with a snarky quote, resurfaced during the season. The two answer fan questions, play a game of Two Truths and a Lie and chat about some of the best behind-the-scenes moments of the Sharks season. Plus, she tells a few great stories, including a unique interaction she had with Mark Messier and Wayne Gretzky and explains why hockey is her favorite sport. Julie and Cat start the episode with a little debrief on Colleen Smith's appearance on the podcast and they wrap up with Cat revealing a little secret that Sharks fans are going to love.

Julie and Cat are joined by Carey and Angela Price (8:43)... Carey looks back at his legendary career and talks about retirement life, his past Montreal teammates, his love for fishing and hunting and tells a few great stories, including how he learned to fly an airplane as a kid and being chirped during the 2014 Sochi Olympics by an unlikely opponent. Angela chimes in with some wonderful color, explaining how dish duty was once a weak spot for Carey and explaining how the two had to adjust to his retirement. Julie and Cat open up the show with a little birthday celebration for Julie and talk about how a WillMack live session at Cat's house almost came to fruition. They wrap up talking about how a night at the Panthers game with Carey amongst fans could go down... it will be interesting!
