A former porn addict and alcoholic, Joshua Shea became a pornography educator and a certified betrayal trauma coach. In this episode, he talks about the trauma he endured from childhood and how that turned him into an addict. Although he was successful as a magazine publisher, film festival founder and city councilor, he hid his mental health issues from the public and his family. However since becoming sober in 2014, he is determined to help individuals and couples having porn addiction and unhealthy relationships. 

He has also written three books. His first book, The Addiction Nobody Will Talk About; How I Let My Pornography Hurt People and Destroy Relationships (2018) is an account of his experience during the final days of his addiction. His next book, He's a Porn Addict... Now What? (2019) is specifically for women who have to go through the trauma of discovering that their male partners/husbands are porn addicts. The latest book, Porn and the Pandemic: How Three Months in 2020 Changed Everything (2020) analyzes the condition of porn addicts during the pandemic.
