Learning she was a sexual abuse and cancer survivor, a poet, an author, and a nurse it amazes me that these are just a few titles on her resume of life. I saw a risk taker and dreamer. She was an absolute delight to talk to! I hope that you are inspired or encouraged by her story.

The mind is powerful and can take the strongest down. I couldn’t find the right words to recap this episode but hearing someone talk about their depression helped me to talk about mine and bring understanding and healing. V is dope and a true testimony to the power of God. Creating the brand F.U.C.K. Depression (Find Understanding, Create Knowledge) shows how he was able to embrace depression and not sulk in it. This was our 2nd recording of this episode and in that short time I saw an amazing growth in him. I encourage you all to follow his journey as well.

Welcome to Episode 7 of New And In Between, with guest host Maddox Silva.

Being the oldest sibling comes with a hidden set of responsibilities that no one tells you about and only the oldest understands. My nephew Maddox is 1 of 2 of my favorite humans in the world (the other being Peyton, his younger brother, whose episode is to come). 

I prayed to be the one who breaks the generational curses in my family and Maddox is the next generation. He has been blessed with height, intelligence and for someone so young, Wisdom. I find that in order to change something you have to recognize and take accountability for what is wrong. As I do this, I’m able to share my process with my nephew with the hopes to change the outcome of what has been repeated.
