As we conclude our Summer of the Prophets series we come to the Malachi. He bursts on the scene at a time that Israel is doubting God's love for them. Let's be honest, it is easy to fall into this lie especially if we base our relationship with God on unfavorable circumstances. The danger of doubting God's love for us is that we can fall into spiritual lethargy which can translate into a drifting away from the person you think no longer loves you. Malachi will challenge us to come back to the reality that God loves us all!

Have you ever noticed how difficult it is to stay focused on certain projects we've begun? Or have you noticed how we can start out fired up for God and then lose that fire and eventually drift off into a lack of spiritual focus? Well, we now come to a prophet by the name of Haggai who is calling the nation of Israel back into focus. What focus you ask? They began rebuilding the Temple of God but after sixteen years of leaving Babylon they have gotten deterred. They are just like us. Sometimes we need a good hard push to get us back into spiritual focus and Haggai is just the prophet for the job.
