As we wrap up our Conflict series, Pastor Elvin attempts to answer this basic but difficult question: Can’t we just get along?

Pastor Elvin continues our Conflict series with this message: Deep Debt. Deeper Grace. From Matthew 18:

21 Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often ywill my brother sin againstme, and I forgive him? zAs many as seven times?” 22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to youseven times, but seventy-seven times.

23 “Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished ato settleaccounts with his servants.7 24 When he began to settle, one was brought to him whoowed him bten thousand ctalents.8 25 dAnd since he could not pay, his master orderedhim eto be sold, with his wife and fchildren and all that he had, and payment to be made.26 So the servant9 gfell on his knees, imploring him, ‘Have patience with me, and I willpay you everything.’ 27 And out of pity for him, the master of that servant released him anddforgave him the debt. 28 But when that same servant went out, he found one of his fellowservants who owed him a hundred hdenarii,10 and seizing him, he began to choke him,saying, ‘Pay what you owe.’ 29 So his fellow servant fell down and pleaded with him, ‘Havepatience with me, and I will pay you.’ 30 He refused and went and put him in prison untilhe should pay the debt. 31 When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they weregreatly distressed, and they went and reported to their master all that had taken place.32 Then his master summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you allthat debt because you pleaded with me. 33 iAnd should not you have had mercy on yourfellow servant, as I had mercy on you?’ 34 jAnd in anger his master delivered him to thejailers,11 kuntil he should pay all his debt. 35 lSo also my heavenly Father will do to everyone of you, if you do not forgive your brother mfrom your heart.”

Pastor Elvin continues our Conflict series with this message: You Can’t See Jack! Matthew 7:1-5 says, “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and twith the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but udo not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”

Matt Lauritsen continues our Spiritual Promises series with a series of questions and answers from Paul. Matt describes this as the crescendo of the chapter – Paul is really pressing us to have confidence in all we’ve come to learn of God’s promises so far! In Romans 8, Paul describes our future with a confident expectation that we will be made new in Christ. We are already saved (No Condemnation!) and we have hope that someday we will be complete in Christ.

We continue our series in Romans 8 with verses 12-17. We are God’s children! He is our Daddy. We get the same privileges as if we’re Jesus himself. This is good news for us! Listen in as Elvin describes the privilege of being called a son or daughter of God.
