The righteousness of God is demanded, revealed, and sufficient. We all have a tendency to drift towards self-righteousness- however, what justifies us is not our pitiful attempts at being good, but rather the perfect righteousness of Christ.

Not all who profess Christ as Lord are true disciples. Many will be offended by the hard sayings of Jesus and many will outright reject them. True disciples must believe the Words of Life. However, there still will be some like Judas, who seems to believe, but are actually deceiving and self-deceived.

Jerusalem was under siege. What made the calamity even more bitter was the fact that the LORD Himself had brought about this disaster. However, God's covenantal, faithful love is a glimmer of hope. For the Christian there is always a glimmer of light in the darkness, because God is working all things for our good in light of eternity.

Given one of the truths about communion that Paul outlines in 1 Corinthians 10-14-22 - namely, that Christians in a local church partake of the same bread because they are all united as one body - we look at how that should impact our coming to the Lord's Table. One negative appeal - one positive appeal are made towards Christians based on this truth.

Angels are created spiritual beings that possess intellect, moral judgment, and will. They were created blameless but some fell to sin and became demons. The ones who did not are called the elect angels. They are incorporeal but can manifest their presence in physical forms. They do not procreate or die, and they are organized into ranks. Scripture tells us of three types of angels- cherubim, seraphim, and the living creatures. Angels are ministers of God and appeared at the beginning of every major stage of redemptive history. They serve Christians and watch over the church. The angel of the LORD is the pre-incarnate Christ. Angels tell us of God's unique love for mankind because God did not provide redemption angels. Angels are examples to us of obedience and worship. Angels magnify the greatness and holiness of God.

With God just sparing Nineveh from destruction because of the city's belief in God - repentance, Jonah's wrath towards God's forgiveness is evident. However, God decides to teach Jonah a lesson. After intervening in nature as He did with the great fish, God draws a parallel between Jonah's pity for an insignificant plant, and His own pity for something far more valuable - the souls of men. After examining God's pity towards lost souls, the appropriate Christian response is laid out - a life centered on evangelism - missions.

Q69. What is the Lord's Supper-----A. The Lord's Supper is a holy outward sign that Jesus gave to the church. It is a covenant meal where we eat bread and drink from the cup, proclaiming and giving thanks for Jesus Christ's atoning death on the cross. Those who eat and drink in an appropriate manner share in Christ's body and blood -in a symbolic manner- so that spiritually by faith they are nourished with the benefits he purchased, grow in grace, and look forward to the heavenly feast. -1 Cor. 10-16-18, 11-23-26-----Q70. What is the appropriate way to receive the Lord's Supper-----A. Those who receive the Lord's Supper in an appropriate way must be displeased with themselves because of their sins, but still trust that their sins are pardoned and that their continuing weakness is covered by the suffering and death of Christ. They also desire to grow in repentance from sin, strength of faith, and communion with God. However, if those who are unrepentant sinners receive the Lord's Supper, they eat and drink judgment on themselves, and are liable to sickness and death as a result. -1 Cor. 10-16-22, 11-26-32-

In this review we examine the context as well as the content of the Bread of Life discourse. The Bread of Life, which comes from Heaven, satisfies the soul's hunger. The Bread is difficult to accept, but offers eternal life to all who would eat it. This Bread is our Lord Jesus Christ Himself.

What is the greatest demonstration of the power of God- Is it the creation of the universe- Is it the healing of the sick- Is it the raising of the dead- No. The greatest display of the power of God is the Gospel, which has the power unto salvation. To radically transform a depraved, God-hating, rebellious, spiritually dead sinner into a redeemed, God-loving saint with a new heart is a greater miracle than even creation ex nihilo. But why do we so often sense a power vacuum in our lives- It could be due to our little faith, our little prayers, our little knowledge, little obedience, and our little Christ.
