Using the unbreakable nature of a will, Paul shows God’s blessings come by promise, not performance. The law was added because of transgressions to lock everything under sin—so the promise could be given by faith in Christ. A brilliant, hope-filled explanation of why the law exists.
From Galatians 3:5-14, Pastor Mark contrasts works of the law (which bring a curse) with the blessing of Abraham received by faith. Christ redeemed us from the curse by becoming a curse for us. Powerful gospel logic proving justification is by faith alone in Christ.
Galatians 3:1–6 lands like a wake-up call—Paul confronts the Galatians for being drawn back into striving for perfection through human effort. He points them back to the crucified Christ and reminds them: they received the Spirit not by works, but by faith alone. A powerful summons to return to grace.
Galatians 2:15-21 powerfully explains we are justified not by works of the law but through faith in Christ. Pastor Mark communicates these verses that bring relief and joy. Christ lives in us, His righteousness is ours. Deep encouragement for doubters and the performance-driven.
In Galatians 2:1-10, Paul defends the pure gospel of grace before the apostles. Pastor Mark highlights one gospel for all cultures, freedom over slavery, and the need to resist legalism and license.
From violent persecutor to passionate preacher—Paul’s story is anything but ordinary. The same power that transformed Saul into a servant of the crucified Savior is still at work today—powerful proof that God can save anyone.
Galatians 1:6-10 urgently warns against deserting Christ for a distorted "different gospel." This chapter passionately defends the singular message of grace through Jesus’ sacrifice as a living relationship, not works. A raw wake-up call to cling to the only news that saves.
In justification, God has declared guilty sinners to be righteous through faith in the finished work of Christ and has done so “by his grace as a gift” (Romans 3:24). Thus, those who are freely saved through the gospel are also called, empowered, and motivated to live a life that reflects God and pleases him. Motivated by a desire to please and honor the Lord, Christians are to strive after holiness (Hebrews 12:14) and be doers of the word (James 1:22). We put sin to death (Colossians 3:5) and we live in all things for God (Colossians 3:17). In so doing, our lives testify to the goodness of God, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the reality of the gospel. Compelled by grace, believers grow in the knowledge of God, obey Christ’s commands, walk by the Spirit, mortify sin, and pursue God’s priorities and purposes (Mark 12:30-31; 1 Corinthians 10:31; 1 John 5:2-3). This results in godliness, progressively increasing in the believer’s life.
