Some believers have been encouraged and helped in their walk with Christ by church leadership. Some have been badly hurt in their spiritual journey. In some cases, the damage done drove people away from church and even their faith. And some people aren’t here today because of leaders that failed them. It’s no secret that scandals and headlines about church leaders have done untold damage to people’s perception of the church in our culture. That is why it is imperative that we have a biblical understanding of church leadership.

The church is required to endure, but we can only do so because of the work Christ has already accomplished. This letter reminds us that Christ has welcomed believers through a doorway that no one can close and will give rewards that no one can take away.

Jesus gives the disciples some instructions in Luke 10 that help us understand how far we must go to tell others about the Kingdom of God and it's resurrected King. Our mission is to make Jesus known; Our going is not without fear; Our telling must be intentional; and Our priority must be the mission.
