The National Student Financial Aid Scheme, NSFAS, has announced new funding measures to tackle a major shortfall for the 2025 academic year. NSFAS and the Department of Higher Education and Training will now support 34,000 students with blocked registrations and 15,000 second-semester registrations by reallocating R13.3 billion from its existing budget.
