This week is Core 32: Incarnation. Incarnation is another bible word, which refers to God becoming flesh in the person of Jesus. But what does that mean? How could Jesus be both fully God, and fully human? Why is the Incarnation important? And finally, what does the Incarnation mean for us? That is what we will discussed today.

This week is Core 31: The Greatest Command.

Jesus says that the greatest command is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. He then says that the second greatest command is to love your neighbour as yourself. All other commands in scripture begin with these two. When we truly understand and internalize these two commands, and center our lives around following them, the rest will follow naturally. 

This week, we welcomed guest speaker Stephen Vessey to share with us the biblical principles of leadership as seen in the life and ministry of Jesus.

This week is Core 29: Rest. In a world filled with continual busyness and distraction, the only true hope of rest we have is in God's plan and design for us. While to many it may seem "archaic and irrelevant" to practice a Sabbath (Mark Moore, p. 196), it is actually a gift, and the only "Eden" that we have left. 

This week is Core 28: Faith. Faith is certainly a familiar word to us all. However, faith has become a synonym for believing something is true, which is not the same understanding that scripture has. In scripture, believing is a part of faith, but faith is much bigger than that.

Faith demands action. Faith has substance. It moves.
James 2:17 says, "... faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead". If we believe the Gospel is our only hope of salvation, then we will respond with action. 

This week is Core 27: The Gospel. If you are a believer, you have heard it, responded to it, and put your faith in it. And yet, the Gospel (good news) of Jesus is being corrupted more and more in our world today. During this message, we will discuss this week what to do with it, and how we can share it.

We have seen all of the ways in which God blessed Mary, as well as the trials and suffering that she endured. We've seen her incredible faith on display.

But amidst all of these things, Mary found time to reflect on everything that was happening. As we celebrate the birth of the Saviour this year, we too should spend intentional time dwelling on the goodness of God.

When Mary and Joseph take baby Jesus to the temple, Simeon and Anna give words of praise to God for allowing them to witness the coming of the Messiah.

However, Simeon also had some scary words for Mary as well, which show that Mary's yes to God's plan is still just as dangerous, even though Joseph chose to stand by her side. She will face pain and suffering as a result of her Son, and she is aware of this reality from the very beginning.

This week, we follow Mary as she travels to see her sister Elizabeth, and Mary give her famous song of praise (The Magnificat). But what is so amazing about this song of praise is the depth of knowledge that Mary holds of God's redemptive plan throughout history. 

This is a lesson to us today: Marry knew enough of God's plan and works throughout history to respond to His call and take her place in the story. We too should know the story of the kingdom of God, so that we can also respond to God's call and play our part. 

Mary is a model of courage and faithfulness when she says yes to God’s dangerous plan.
