New Hope Christian Church - Whitestown

In Genesis 40, we read about the cupbearer and the baker. In this story, we see Joseph maturing and his character being shaped by the Lord in his circumstances. Even though he is in the middle of difficulty, Joseph still chose to serve others joyfully. No matter what season of life you are in, there is no barrier to you joyfully serving God today!

As we continue in the Life of Joseph with Genesis 39:2-12, we see Joseph flee from temptation and the wicked sin pressured by Potipher's wife. We see a very similar tactic from the enemy in our world today. How will you intentionally arrange your life to experience contentment in Jesus over the fake contentment of the world?

Join us as Rob kicks us off in our new series in Genesis: The Life of Joseph. We will see how God was always with Joseph, and the same is true for us. God is with us and He is shaping us through our mountain-top highs and valley lows.

In Genesis chapter 38, we see Judah, the son of Jacob, run off to pursue his own selfish desires, falling into a deep pit of sin. Judah really messed up, but our God writes really good stories. Just like Judah, God can take our brokenness and redeem us if we'll let Him.

This week, Rob preaches on Genesis 32 with an emphasis on Jacob's wrestling with God. In his wrestling, Jacob realized that God is all that he needs. Let us learn to make our days count for the Lord, and live each day for Him.

As we continue in our series in Genesis, Rob preaches on Genesis 28:10-22. Jacob was feeling far from God, but in that moment of feeling alone, God met Jacob where he was. It doesn't matter where you have been or what you have done, God wants to have a relationship with you.

In Genesis chapter 27, Jacob deceives his father to inherit a blessing intended for his brother. Jacob and his mother both justified this act as a shortcut on the right path, but what happens when we try to steer the direction of our life instead of trusting that God will do what He says He's going to do?

Sometimes we might find ourselves asking, "Where is God?" David preaches on Genesis 26:1-3 as Isaac and his family are experiencing a very difficult time, God promises that even through Isaac's troubles, He is with him.

As we continue our series with Genesis 25:19-34, we read about Jacob, Esau, and a bowl of stew that was traded for a birthright. As Christians, we too face the temptation to trade priceless pieces of our life for the bowl. We must choose faithfulness over the temptation.
