A full house renovation isn’t easy and it ain’t cheap! To pull it off, you will need a big budget, a big team and lots of power tools! What about a “Life Renovation?” A big budget won’t help, nor will a big team of workers, but the right Power tools just might do the job! Today we dig into the story of Ezekiel to understand what kind of Power Tools God has at His disposal when He takes on a Life Renovation project.

In this second half of our series on the Lord’s Prayer we will look at the verses that teach us how to pray for ourselves and our needs. True prayer is not the recitation of a shopping list of needs. It is an opportunity to align ourselves with the Will of God and the Plan of God for our lives. When we discover the power of true, biblical prayer, we will discover the power of God in our prayers.

Most of us learned to pray as young children. However, many of us have not moved beyond our childhood prayers. Jesus taught His closest disciples how to pray effectively. Join us as we look at what that kind of prayer would look like in our lives as well as we learn to pray like Jesus.

We want our family, friends and neighbors to experience the same hope in Christ that we already know, but how do we do that? What does it look like to make fully devoted followers of Christ in today’s culture? This story in the Book of Acts will help us understand the steps involved.

As a country we understand that Freedom is not free. For nearly 250 years, brave men and women have fought and died to defend our country and the freedoms we enjoy. As a Christ Follower, we also know that our Freedom is not free. We must choose to be free. Jesus’ death on the cross enabled us to know and have true Freedom, but if we do not choose to walk in that Freedom, we are not truly Free. God’s Word shows us how to choose to be truly Free!

What’s so dangerous about a blessing? Blessings are good things! Why wouldn’t I want God to bless me every time I ask? Biblical Blessings are not intended for the receiver alone. God’s Blessings are intended to be a double blessing: First when we receive it and then when we share it with others!

If we truly pray for God to Lead Us, it means we must be willing to go and do and be what He commands. That is what makes this prayer so dangerous! When men, especially fathers pray this prayer, God responds with the command: “Lead!” God has uniquely gifted fathers to be the leaders of their families. For too long, we have forfeited that responsibility to others (or to nobody). Men, it is time that we respond to God’s command to be the leader He has equipped and commanded us to be!

If our goal is to be more like Christ, then we must emulate His life and sacrifice. He was “broken and poured out” for us on the cross. When we pray for God to “Break Us”, we become usable. In God’s economy, it is the broken thing that is most usable in His Kingdom. Not until we allow God to break us are we fully moldable in His hands. We are most like Christ when we are broken and poured out.
