John 17:3

Eternal life requires knowing God but what does it mean to know God?  Knowing God is not just following a set of rules it is following a friend, a father and a comforter.  We must perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand God.  If we are truly in relationship will we just spend an hour or two at church with Him and then forget about Him the rest of the week?  If we truly love Him won’t he be on our mind all the time?

Genesis 12:1-7

Faith always moves forward and we must in faith step out into the future and God’s plan for us.  Abram and Sarai left their native land to live in tents and pursue God’s direction.  They made many mistakes along the way but God still used them and guided them.  God in His turn did the impossible.  Our objective here is to learn from God what He put us on this earth to do both individually and collectively.  What is our goal?  What were we made for?

Genesis 4:1-16

You need only look around you to realize how deeply sin has affected humanity.  It is crouching at your door.  How will you live for God today and choose His way instead?  Are you ready to give an answer for the hope that is within you?

1 Peter 3:15-16

Always be prepared to give ans answer for the hope that you have.  Are you looking outward and finding ways to give your faith away?  Do you know your story well enough to share it with others?

 

Listen to the warning in your heart when sin comes knocking.  Don’t fall prey to the devil’s schemes.  Don’t let him fool you and hurt others through you.  Be courageous, resist the devil and cling to the promise of forgiveness and reconciliation in Jesus.

Ephesians 5:15-20

Be careful how you live, be wise and keep the right priorities.  Make the most of every opportunity and redeem your time.  We are stewards of our time.  Are you using it for things that really matter?  Are you using this gift that we’ve been given well?

 

Hebrews 10:24-25

As disciples of Christ we commit ourselves to each other.  We are to encourage each other.  We are to spur each other on toward good works.  Life together may not always be easy but we are called to do it well and to persevere through difficulty.  History is working towards its conclusion and we need to be ready for our savior’s return.

Matthew 28:16-20

We are meant to reach out and make disciples of all nations.  Jesus called us to go, to reach out, to be a part of God’s plan to save and redeem His people.  Learn, teach, share each other’s burdens.  Have a sense of urgency for God’s mission to save the lost.  Don’t miss the opportunities that you’ve been given.

Matthew 22:34-40

How do we define the basic building blocks of how we are meant to live a Christian life?  Do we look at the Ten Commandments?  Do we look at Jesus charge that we love God and love our neighbor?

We need to commit serious thought and focus to figuring out what really matters to our savior.
