The Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Most of us have heard this rule many times before. But what does it mean? How do we put it into practice? And why is it so important?

In this message, we'll look at why Jesus gave this command, and what it means for our lives today.

Many Christians have a hard time living holy lives because they think God will be mad if they don’t. What we need to remember is that God doesn't expect us to live holy because we fear him, fear what he'll do to us if we don't, or fear what others will say about us. He wants us to live holy because we love him and want to be near him.

In Matthew 6:1-18, Jesus continues his sermon on the mount and tells teaches us how our inside and outside need to match in our pursuit of Him.

The Old Testament Law was given to the Jews by God as His guidelines for how they should live. Over time, following "the rules" became more important than the reason for them.

Since the greatest command is loving God AND OTHERS, we must be spurred on to live our lives in such a way that we carry God’s love to the people around us — even people that aren’t like us! This message looks at how we can serve and encourage each other in faith’s hard journey.
