A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.

LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many [are] they that rise up against me. 2 Many [there be] which say of my soul, [There is] no help for him in God. Selah. 3 But thou, O LORD, [art] a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. 4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. 5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me. 6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set [themselves] against me round about. 7 Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies [upon] the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly. 8 Salvation [belongeth] unto the LORD: thy blessing [is] upon thy people. Selah.

Let’s Keep the Conversation Going:

It’s so easy to learn great truths as we hear God’s Word in our seats on Sunday but leave the truth dormant in our hearts through the week. One way to live out gospel truths is growing together through gospel conversations. At New Life, we desire for our relationships with each other to go deeper than elevator talk and revolve around the gospel. But sometimes initiating meaningful conversations is tricky or intimidating. For A New King in Town, Pastor David and Adrianna have crafted conversation starters for you to take with you this week. We pray these questions initiate conversations on the car ride home, at your dinner table, or in your Life Group this week.

-Think back to a moment when your plans or dreams didn’t meet reality. Share your stories with a friend, spouse, or parent.

-What dreams or plans do you have in the works now? (Ie. School, relationships, work goals) Is there anything you’ve been dreaming about pursuing or a goal you want to accomplish in 2022?

-In response to truths about Jesus’ Kingship, are you willing to hold your dreams and plans with open hands for Christ to be King of them? Be honest with yourself and others. If you're not ready, share your reasons with someone who can pray alongside you. If you desire Christ’s Kingship, invite others into this decision. Pray together njand give Jesus’ your dreams and plans.
