In transition, we are not always sure of who we are. Deuteronomy states over and over and over- "Remember". Remember who we are in Christ. Remember how we got here. Remember where we are going. And above all remember the God who got us through it all and will carry us home.

Introduction: As we start a new year, we're starting a 3-week sermon mini-series today focused on "Transition". Since we face a year of significant transition as a church, we will look to a seldom-read book of the Bible that is all about transition.

~Deuteronomy is the story of a people in transition

~The "in-between" is the hardest part of any journey

Conclusion: For the next few weeks, let us stand on the banks of the Jordan River in our "in-between" time, and listen to the wisdom of an old man as we wait and hope for God's promises to be fulfilled about our future.

1) Who experiences this displeasure? The strong in faith as they follow Jesus Christ.

2) Why is this displeasure necessary? So the church with one voice can glorify God.
