How does a doctor know if you're really sick? They check your symptoms. In the same way, do you just think you're living a Christian life, or do you actually have the symptoms of someone who is striving to bear fruit? And don't forget to make your bed...

We're starting a new series, and in the first week Pastor Justin kicked things off with a story of Jesus acting pretty un-Christ-like... at least in the way we tend to think of Jesus. This was anything but the blonde haired, blue eyed, soft spoken, hippie Jesus. Here, he curses a fig tree for not bearing fruit, and then flips some tables in the temple. So was this an almighty temper tantrum? Or are we thinking of it all wrong?

Pastor Trevor leads off by taking some time to pray for the city of Lewiston and everyone affected by last week's horrible tragedy. We also go through chapter 22 of the book of Luke, where Jesus sits down at the table for the last supper with his disciples. Trevor reminds us that when it feels like the world is crumbling, we can find Jesus reclined at the table, and there's a seat for us right next to him.

Everyone's favorite Care Pastor is back! Pastor Tom begins by guiding us in prayer for everyone affected by the war in Israel and Gaza, and then takes us through some Old Testament scriptures to remind us that we are all set apart by God to be holy. But that doesn't mean only sticking with each other as Christians, but by "going outside the camp" to do what God has called us to do.

Pastor Justin reminds us of the familiar story of Jesus being led into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan. The key here is the word "led". Jesus wasn't pushed or driven into the wilderness, he was led by the Spirit. And what of all those promises Satan tried to make to Jesus? Wasn't he offering things that Jesus already had? There's a lot to learn about obedience in this story.

Special Guest speaker Dr. Kim Pensinger brings us a familiar story from the book of Luke this week. Dr. Pensinger is a missions partner of New Life, and is working closely with us in preparation for our upcoming missions trip to the Dominican Republic.

Pastor Trevor brings us a good word this week! It's really easy to think that by doing as much as we can in the name of Jesus, that He's going to pleased with us. But that's a bit of a misnomer - it's about knowing Jesus intimately.

After wrapping up the Nehemiah series, Pastor Justin brings us a familiar portion of scripture with a few new insights. You may have heard about removing the plank from your eye, but what does that really mean? And what about that old adage "Love the sinner, hate the sin."? Let's hear what Jesus has to say about all this.

As we wrap up our series on Nehemiah, Pastor Justin recaps what we've talked about so far, and finishes up by showing us exactly what it looks like when we allow ourselves to "settle" instead of constantly "stirring" our spiritual fire.

It's interesting how most times when we think of Nehemiah all we can remember is that he built a wall. Pastor Justin takes us through Nehemiah chapter 9 where we get to read the longest prayer in recorded scripture - a prayer that serves to remind us of exactly who God is.
