Today we talk beer with Maciej Grajewski (SGPapertronics). Hannah learns about his lab in a box Beer-O-Meter, which streamlines the quality control process. Maciej shares how he identified the new and adaptable systems needed for testing,  and the way in which the Beer-O-Meter fits in with a changing market. This new and innovative lab in a box is meant for practitioners who do not have a lot of lab experience, and is aimed at replacing wet chemical testing labs.

In this first podcast of our series on new technologies, we welcomed back Iscaffpharma by chatting with Per Setterberg, CEO and  Professor Göran Landberg, CMO.  Göran talks to us about how pre-clinical testing in human tumor microenvironment  and synthetic copies of the same adds value to drug screening of oncology drugs. The model creates a pre-clinical fingerprint that mimics the potential effect a drug will have in humans, as well as reduces the need for animal models. Dive in with us as we go in depth into the use of 3D printed scaffolds in cancer drug screening, the ethical considerations behind removing the use of animal models, and what future advances they see in using their technology.

David Weinkove, CEO of Magnitude Biosciences joins us to talk to us about their work with C. elegans- tiny worms used to test compounds for health. We learn about the difference between a lifespan and a healthspan and how using these tiny worms to study the effects of compounds on aging is helpful.  David shares Magnitude's work as a CRO and how they translate their work into an industrial setting.
