Remember, God is the only one with power to change lives without adding any sorrows. We all are a work in progress. Our God is FAITHFULL and HE is good all the Time. Not sometimes! Not only in good times! I mean all the TIME. You must believe that. To our Nigerian GEO’s home and abroad it is time to teach the real WORD of God devoid of the inherent transactions. Who are GEO’s? GEO's are General Executive Overseers. This are highly placed individuals who profess to service of God and humanity while also engaging church business in the name of God. All credit to Daddy Freeze who started a movement that has been promoted in various forms to unveil Tithing in the church. Today, there are many opinion out there about Tithing in the church. These includes, that paying Tithe is biblical or not; Tithe is 10% or not. Many GEO’s argue that it's biblical to pay 10% tithes to them. Also, if Tithe is 10% as many GEO's argues; then 10% of what? * 10% of your total earnings? * 10% of your income? * 10% of your profits? or * 10% of your losses. You will all agree with me that there are many questions than answers on this topic. My friends, there is no yes or no answer to the question of Tithing. However, for a starter, note specifically that giving is not the only way God can be reached. The text says, "do not forsake the gathering of brethren." How do we facilitate meeting of like minds described as brethren here? You will all agree with me that gathering itself involves logistics and plans. That means members of any church or religious gathering should fund running of the church or mosques as the case may be. The truth is that many of our GEOs hijacked the process and weaponized collection of offerings to diverse degrees. Okay! Sometimes shamelessly too. *We can not owe God MONEY! *Our God owns everything! *This is Clear and simple Enough! Note critically; if you have pressing bills i.e. medical bills, mortgage or children school fees, please make those a priority. At this point, you may pay whatever is convenient, affordable and reasonable to sustain your place of worship. In a normal church arrangement, leadership are duty bound to report periodically to their flocks. In my view, accountability is a major factor why some Nigerian GEO’s went rogue. I will further this discussion in future editions with specificity. Our dear GEO’s, I am encouraging you and wives to NOW speak the truth to your congregation. It’s ridiculous what is happening in some of our worship houses in Nigeria. The people of Nigeria are suffering and need your Help. This is the time to show the benevolence of the big God we are all proclaiming. You may facilitate same by given back to the communities who has trusted, supported and donated to your organizations for decades. For instance; * Build community urgent health care centers and community health care centers for your people. Revive some of the infrastructures and employ youths reasonably. Help keep Nigerian society busy with real jobs. Nigerians are already faithful people and trust God enough. Show them the LOVE of our God that you persistently preach. Help breach the gap for poor and needy. Please help provide real jobs within your communities. You have the resources, intellect, contacts and connections needed to accomplish this tasks.
