This Sunday, Guest Speaker and Reverend Eugene Cho continued our journey through the Minor Prophets with a powerful message from the book of Amos. In this convicting passage, God makes it clear that injustice grieves Him. It disturbs Him, and it should disturb us too. As believers, we don’t worship justice, we worship a JUST God, and we’re called to pursue justice through a lens of compassion.

This Sunday, Pastor Rob continued our journey through the Minor Prophets with the book of Jonah. While often remembered as a Sunday School story about a big fish or a reluctant prophet, Jonah is ultimately about the relentless mercy and goodness of God. Jonah ran from God’s call—but he couldn’t outrun God’s grace. The same is true for us.

This Sunday, we had the privilege of hearing from Pastor David Thomas of Asbury University, who preached a powerful message from Psalm 126 on travailing prayer. Drawing on his firsthand experience during the Asbury Awakening in 2023, Pastor David reminded us that awakening and revival have changed the course of history before, and they can happen again, but it starts with a desperate and honest recognition that we are broken and in need of God alone.

Pastor Scott launched our summer series on the Minor Prophets by diving into the book of Obadiah. Each week, we’ll uncover a unique message from one of these twelve minor prophets and see how it still resonates with us today. This week, we were reminded to willingly humble ourselves before God rather than face the painful consequences of pride. Let’s take time this week to reflect on how we often try to reign as kings over our own lives, laying down our pride and remembering that we are beloved sons and daughters of the ultimate King.

This week, Pastor Rob continues to explore the Both/And tension from Luke 17:20-21, as Paul tells us that the kingdom of God is already here, is not here yet, and is coming. Watch this week’s message for the five ways God shapes how we live now.

Drawing from Hebrews 12:1-3, Pastor McKenna Takach unpacks the powerful tension between joy and suffering. We explore three common human responses to suffering and while most people try to avoid or accept suffering, followers of Jesus have a Savior who enters into it for joy.

Life is full of tensions—moments where two things that seem to be opposites are both true. The Bible is no different. It’s packed with mysteries that can stretch our understanding, like how Jesus is both fully God and fully human, or how God is both perfectly loving and perfectly just. These tensions aren’t contradictions; they’re invitations to a deeper faith.
In this series, we’re diving into six of the biggest tensions in Scripture. Together, we’ll wrestle with questions like: How do we live with joy while facing suffering? How do we embrace God’s sovereignty while taking responsibility for our actions? And how do we live in the world without becoming like it?
We want to explore these tensions because they’re at the heart of what it means to follow Jesus. By holding these truths in balance, we grow in wisdom, trust, and maturity. Instead of trying to resolve the tension, we’ll discover how it leads us closer to God and helps us live more faithfully in a complicated world.
Join us for this journey—we’re not promising easy answers, but we’re confident we’ll encounter the God who holds all things together.
