This week we sat down with our New Old Friend Kimberly Duran known as “SHMI”. In this episode, we touched on how she became a visual artist and muralist, “Nacho Libre”, her first mural, and finding her partner in crime in art. It was awesome hearing how a teacher helped her believe in her art, how she grew up fast at a young age, working on her personal art collection after hours, and why she thinks art school is not for everyone. This week we sat down with our New Old Friend Lizzy Polanco. Lizzy is a professional makeup artist based in the greater Los Angeles area. This week we sat down with our New Old Friend Big Sandy. He is a singer-songwriter based in Orange County, CA. He is one of the pioneers in the rockabilly culture and an overall awesome guy. In this episode we went over how the name Big Sandy came to be, how he got into music, touring around the world, and opening for Morrissey. Sandy also talks about adapting with the times and creating something new and exciting during the Covid-19 pandemic. Mikey and I are still in shock that Big Sandy took the time out of his day to come and talk to us. It just shows how incredible he is and we wish him all the best on his projects. We can’t wait to see him on stage in the near future.
