Best new book on Lyme disease. 10 docs give us their therapies and they are really innovative. I just read if you are a lyme sufferer. I loved this new book.

Great source of information - and a guide to your next steps

Lyme is such a terrible disease. I had it for 15 years, and did a lot of research. One thing I learned about Lyme is how it affects us all differently; the organisms tend to go after our individual weaknesses. So it's not something that lends itself to straightforward diagnosis or a cookie-cutter treatment approach.

If this book were available when I was in the thick of it, I would have read a chapter every few days, thinking about the various approaches described and how those approaches coincided with my own observations of what was happening to my body and mind. This is deep and thoughtful reading, as are all of Connie's books. She carefully lays out the doctor's way of thinking and the logic behind the treatments.

The reason this book is so valuable is it includes each doctor's bio - not just a recording of their career or accomplishments, but the path they travelled that led them to their current approach. These doctors are all trying to solve the puzzle that is Lyme, and they all have come to their own conclusions about what works, and why. It's interesting to understand the thinking that led them to their current approach.

This is very useful information to have in your head as you consider the next steps you will take in an attempt to eradicate those nasty spirochetes from your system. It's not enough to find a Lyme-Literate Doctor; you need to find one that will take an approach that makes sense to you. Understanding what these dedicated doctors have discovered can help you understand what might work for you, and help you find someone who takes a similar approach.

Information is power, and you need all the power you can muster to beat Lyme.
