Music is often used at the beginning of a podcast episode, throughout the episode as transitions, and at the end. There are no rules, however, and we encourage you to incorporate music however you like. Feel free to get creative just be aware of the copyright issues.

We've compiled several resources right here in one place where you'll find websites that provide free music, and some additional information on copyright law as it relates to podcasting.

Mixing and Mastering can be considered as the next phase of editing.

It is where multiple audio files are combined, and levels and other factors adjusted to blend the multi-track into a whole. The final step, Mastering, creates a single-track audio file ready to be shared as a podcast.

The best solution is to record well - rather than try to fix it later.

There are solutions but we don't want to try to be audio engineers. We will demonstrate some of the possible ways to fix the most common problems.

Editing is for removing things that don't belong.

There are two types of editing. Content and quality. And we use both our eyes and ears. There will be more detail in the lesson videos.

We will learn what can stay because it adds to the message and what to remove because it is distracting.
