This week is a special podcast only episode of the New Roots Community Radio Hour. We are joined by Jonathan "Durty" Mosely who has spent the last two years traveling by bike and doing volunteer work around the country. Durty came to be know by the group with his time as a Green Rider in which he biked from New York City to Seattle with a group of 48 volunteers planting gardens, fruit trees, picking up trash, and general good deeds for the community.

This week we welcomed Doug Amberg into our studio to discuss another aspect of hemp - residential construction. Within this topic we talk about the sustainability and feasibility of using hemp as a building material and how it stacks up to other materials and as a use in the US.

This extends out into how we care for our Earth, which brings us to our interview with Harvey Craig of Boot Ranch Farms. Harvey grows hemp for the purpose of medicinal CBD. In this talk we cover not only the benefits of CBD and what to look out for, but also some of the practices within the industry that you should know such as pesticide use and waste.

This week Nicole and Adam talk with Meighen Lovelace (Insta: meighenlovelace Twitter: @farmermeighen) about Food Policy. While it is an immense topic to discuss, Meighen breaks down a lot of the intricacies to address some of the issues with our current policies and potential solutions. Meighen has been living in Colorado for almost 20 years and has dedicated her life working towards positive change in the political realm around access to healthy food.
