Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Dr. Blade Nzimande has announced a new student loan scheme for missing middle. Nzimande says government has set aside R3.8 billion to fund the country's 'missing middle' students who were not covered by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). Nzimande, also announced the appointment of Professor Lourens van Staden as acting chairperson of the National Financial Aid Scheme.
