Historyman presents Corinne Hoch and her new book on the Woodlawn Plantation. Nestled in the shadow of Brookgreen Gardens, Woodlawn Plantation was the home to some of the oldest families in South Carolina. Corinne Hoch's new book tells the wonderful history of the property that once was her family's homeplace. Spanish settlers, artisian wells, and rice fields are woven into this story of a low country estate. During the American Revolution the land provided the American Army with much needed salt. British General Lord Cornwallis is said to have also visited after the fall of Charleston in May of 1780. Come walk in the footsteps of heroes and proclaim, Freedom Reigns!
