Between January and September 2024, there were 1,050 presentations to participating Queensland emergency departments due to e-scooter incidents, up from 940 during the same period in 2023.

On the Gold Coast they experienced a 635% increase in e-transport injuries, escalating from 77 cases in 2019/20 to 566 in 2023/24.

"They're very aware of the issues with this and they want changes."

"Changes have to happen at the federal level, just don't import these things," Mr Twine said.
