Local illustrator and comic book artist, Ben Mitchell is about to head to Shanghai to host workshops and showcase his work as part of the Australian Comics Exhibition.

Organised by Jakub Mazerant from Illustrate Your Life, ACE! will present works from 20 of the most interesting Australian artists.

Wiradjuri/Birpai queer artist, Wayde Clarke, also known as Alejandro Lauren explores his identity and perception by creating colourful and vibrant works of art.

He’s about to hit the road to take part in multiple markets across the country but will kick it all off here in Newcastle at the Olive Tree Markets.

Recently formed original blues band, Jack and the Axes is already creating quite the name for themselves in the local scene.

Their first EP Proof Is In The Poison showcases their emotional guitar lines, killer harp solos and gutsy vocals.

The thrilling stage adaptation of Stephen King’s classic horror novel, Carrie The Musical is being presented by Hunter Drama 22-24th of August at the Civic Playhouse.

Co-directed by Ali Hodge and Rachel Stark, the show follows the haunting story of Carrie White, a shy and troubled high

school girl who discovers she has telekinetic powers.

Alt-folk/country musician Jordie Lane has recently dropped the third single from his forthcoming album Tropical Depression.

The Gold Coast’s iconic Crafted Beer Festival has announced that the festival will hit Newcastle’s Foreshore Park on 16 November.

Festival-goers will get the chance to taste over 300 brews from more than 30 breweries. Local breweries like Good Folk, Lake Mac Brewing Co and Modus will showcase their work alongside iconic Australian brewers Stone & Wood, Yulli's Brews, Balter and Brick Lane.

This year, one of our favourite local songwriters Melody Pool has released two incredible songs called Fantasy Girl and Changing from her forthcoming album. 

Melody is about to kick off an international tour to celebrate her new music with a show at the Junkyard in Maitland this Wednesday night.
