How we value and perceive ourselves is often based on our opinions and beliefs about ourselves. How different would our attitude be towards ourselves if we saw ourselves through the eyes of God and based those things on His opinions and beliefs about us?
Hannah Arendt said, "Promises are the uniquely human way of ordering the future, making it predictable and reliable to the extent that it is humanly possible." But to God, a promise is nothing more than His Word. They are for us, not Him.
Truth: if your neighbor decides to punch you on the nose for no reason of your doing, then because of his choice, you will get punched. Today we will seek to answer the question, "Why does God allow this?"
"Years ago, I bought a kitchen set for my daughter. The kind with lots of small pieces and screws of different sizes and it normally wouldn't be a problem except the instructions were in Chinese and I don't read Chinese. While it took me hours, I got it together with only a few missing pieces and a handful of unused screws. Sometimes the Bible can be like those instructions. Today, we're going to learn how to translate the language of the Bible into the life of the Christian to make sure we're not missing any pieces and use all the screws that the designer decided were necessary."

So often we tend to focus on our failures and our past. God, on the other hand, wants to set us free from the shame and labels of the past. He wants to reveal how He sees us.
