No, not the cloth or polymer mask you've been wearing in public for the last 18 months. Please keep those on a little bit longer.

I'm talking about a deeper kind of inauthentic spiritual mask that we've been more susceptible to in this season.

Church, it's time for a comeback.

"Stop Social Distancing"

In this kick-off to a new series, we'll look at 5 Biblical Keys to putting the last 18 months behind us.

The titles are a little cheeky... Stopping social distancing has nothing to do with keeping 6 feet apart or other wise protocols. There's another kind of social distancing going on that's been deeply destructive. We've ended up on tribes and teams and sides of a culture war when Jesus said we ought to be known for our unity and our love.

Turns out though this isn't the first time there have been secondary issues that people have turned into relational deal-breakers. See what scripture has to say about it.

At NAC's outdoor service in the amphitheater at Fairy Lake in Newmarket, ON we close out our "Cabin Fever" series with the story of the friends and disciples of Jesus who had just witnessed their mentor and teacher... their hope... be murdered and laid in a dark, locked, little room called a "tomb". Now they found themselves in a locked little room themselves, afraid and confused and hopeless. But in a few moments someone is literally going to just appear before them that will change EVERYTHING.

Some of you today are in an emotional or spiritual dark, locked, little room. Things seem hopeless. Jesus's invitation is for you to come out of darkness and into His glorious light.

As Jonathan delves into the “Cabin Fever” that the prophet Elijah experienced, he separates it into 3 sections followed by an opportunity to respond in song (which for copyright reasons we won’t be including in this podcast, but feel free to seek out these songs)

Something is being formed in Elijah as he goes through seasons of extreme isolation, extreme dependence and extreme obedience.
