Punjab has been a bit of an enigma in Indian politics. It went against the Modi wave in 2014 as well as the Congress surge in 2009. Politics here is localised. Political tiffs seem to be extending outside campaigns as well. While on one hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated how Odisha CM Naveen Pattnaik handled cyclone Fani, PMO sources told reporters that Modi's office called West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee twice to enquire about the cyclone but the calls went unanswered as she was on ‘tour’.
We know where the snubs are coming from but is the appreciation hinting at a coalition in Odisha?
