  • Welcome to News for the Ages Podcast by Rethinking Aging Club

    Transcript:
Linda Sherman, founder of the Rethinking Aging Club:
The Rethinking Aging Club has attracted a large community of like-minded professionals sharing the latest information on advances in healthy longevity, while raising awareness for the wide range of needs among aging adults.

We support the creation of products, services, education and advocacy that better the lives of people aged 50+, including older adults and their caregivers.

We produce two weekly shows that are originally recorded live on the Clubhouse audio-only platform with a live audience interactive.

Thursdays, we focus on products and services, with a different topic every week in our show called Age-Friendly Product Alliance, since June 2021.

Tuesdays, we present and discuss the latest news across a wide range of topics relevant to the fields of aging, longevity and caregiving in our show called News for the Ages, since May 2022.

We’re bringing you both of these highly informative shows through our Rethinking Aging Club podcasts as a way of sharing this valuable information with a wider audience - people like you, who are interested in, or work in, the areas of aging, longevity and caregiving.

Our articles are carefully selected to be topical and of interest to our audience.

Our lively discussions are always full of great perspectives.

Co-host Ray Gordon - architect, urban planner, and futurist:
Our commentators on News for the Ages work across a range of specialties related to aging, longevity, and caregiving.

These experts and industry participants regularly monitor published articles written by journalists for respected publications to find the most informative stories to keep you up to date on the latest industry developments.

    Our regular presenters include:

Linda Sherman was CEO of several multinational subsidiaries based in Japan. She is currently the CMO for two start up companies based in Los Angeles: Marine Biology & Environmental Technologies which creates Miracle of the Sea consumer products, and MBET Health, a professional wound care spin-off.

Benjamin Surmi, the Director of Culture and Education for Koelsch Communities and a social gerontologist. Koelsch Communities offers over 40 innovative residential communities ranging from independent living to memory care

Elizabeth Magallon Fleury is founder of Life’s Encore Planning, which serves older adults - and those who support them - to stay in their homes as long as possible, safely and with Peace of Mind.

Ellen Khalifa works with individuals and entrepreneurs on extending health and wellbeing to match 21st Century lifespans.

Debbie Howard is a market research pro using consumer insights to help clients create novel agetech products for Japan and Asia. She is also an innovative strategist for caregiver-friendly workplaces; and the author of 2 caregiver support books - one for individuals, and one for companies.

    Co-host Debbie Howard:
We report on what's important in this field, because it affects us all - not only as individuals, but also in terms of supporting our families and friends as they age.

We bring you recent news on topics of relevance to the wide range of needs as we age, including:
New living options such as co-living
    The latest in fitness
Private equity and venture funds activity
    Medicare changes

I like to say you can get your “talking points for the week” in this one golden hour!

Aging affects us all, as professionals and in our own lives as we strive to be more prevention-oriented, as well as in our roles as caregivers for those we love, supporting THEM as they age.
