A Reuters poll of economists released on November 12, 2025, shows 80% expect the Federal Reserve to cut its key interest rate by 25 basis points in December to support a weakening labor market, up from last month's survey. The anticipated move would bring the fed funds rate to 3.25%-3.50%, amid FOMC divisions on further cuts due to limited data from the government shutdown. Inflation is projected to remain above the Fed's 2% target through 2027. The poll highlights uncertainty in the 2026 rate path.
