Carrboro Mayor Barbara Foushee spoke with 97.9 The Hill’s Aaron Keck on Friday, March 7, discussing town news and events. She talked about this week’s Town Council meeting, which included a resolution supporting USAID in opposition to the Trump administration’s attempt to shut it down. Council members also tackled transportation, identifying five projects to submit for state funding. And Mayor Foushee issued a proclamation this week in honor of International Women’s Day, which is March 8. Finally, Mayor Foushee discussed the upcoming ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the new Drakeford library building: that ceremony will be Friday, March 21, after bad weather forced a postponement in February.
