Co.Starters- Entrepreneurs in La Crosse and Viroqua have tapped into the national program that provides advice on starting a business from local business owners. We talk about how the program works, its early success and plans to expand the program to Monroe County later this year.

Meteor Timber has a permit from the state to fill some rare wetlands on the property, but the Ho Chunk nation and environmental groups are challenging the permit. A judge is expected to rule on the matter this spring.

Human Rights Commission- Earlier this year, the majority of the city of La Crosse's Human Rights Commission resigned. We'll talk with La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat and past and current members of the commission about what's been going on and the future of the commission.

The Future of Service Clubs- Many American service clubs are having trouble adding new members and even retaining existing members. We talk with members of Coulee Region area service clubs about some of the reasons why and what they are doing about the situation. This is an encore program that originally aired in August of 2017.

Teacher Licensing- We talk about changes coming this summer for Wisconsin teacher licenses and the impact those changes may have on teachers, area schools and teacher education programs.

Growing Hemp- This spring, for the first time in decades, it's legal to grow hemp in Wisconsin. We talk about new rules that have been developed to guide farmers, and about potential markets for Wisconsin-grown hemp.

Rural Entrepreneurship- We discuss rural entrepreneurial spirit with a researcher who found business start-ups are stronger in rural areas and two southwestern Wisconsin businesses that are selling internationally.

Foster Care Changes- We talk about a package of new bills approved this session by the Wisconsin Legislature aimed at improving the state's foster care system.

SURJ/Project Proven- The La Crosse chapter of Showing Up For Racial Justice (SURJ) is raising money to establish an endowment that would help people of color who are jailed in La Crosse County with getting and education or job skills.
