On this special episode of the Maine Veterans Spotlight, Wreaths Across America’s Chris Chapman had the honor of covering the VFW National Convention in Reno, Nevada. We talked with the Maine State Commander for the VFW, Roger Stevens. The Director of the Defense POW MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), Kelly McKeague, joins us to tell us about the great work the DPAA is doing. Tom Scheurich shares how his father’s remains were recovered in Vietnam by DPAA. We round out the show with Donna Knox; her father is still MIA after his plane went down in Korea during the Korean War, and the DPAA is still searching for his remains.

Matt criticizes the media for not vetting polls properly and highlights the broader issues with polling accuracy, citing failures in Wisconsin and Maine. They argue that unreliable polls mislead the public and media, emphasizing the need for better scrutiny and transparency in polling data.

Graham Platner, a former U.S. Senate candidate, is denying rape allegations that ended his campaign and is reaching out to former allies, raising suspicions of a comeback attempt. Despite no charges or investigations, he plans to speak at a Labor Day rally in Hancock County, which was initially promoted by local Democratic groups before distancing themselves. Platner's 11-minute withdrawal video was criticized for its tone-deaf and narcissistic nature. Some believe he is trying to maintain relevance for future political ambitions, despite current impossibilities due to being replaced by another candidate.
