The U.S. Supreme Court vacated a ruling in the Northern District of Alabama, allowing Alabama to redraw congressional maps without majority-minority districts. Justices Sotomayor, Kagan, and Jackson dissented. The decision follows the Louisiana vs. CalA ruling, prompting similar actions in other southern states. A New York Times article noted that while Republicans are still redrawing maps, Democrats are largely done. Matt criticized both parties for partisan redistricting, suggesting it disadvantages Democrats. They predicted potential losses of 12-20 seats for Democrats, jeopardizing their chances of winning back the House.

Current Secretary of State Shenna Bellows is another Democrat who is seeking the nomination to become Maine’s next Governor. She speaks to Matt about her current campaign. 

Joe Lundberg, a senior meteorologist at AccuWeather, discussed the upcoming week's weather forecast. He predicted that temperatures would not rise above 50 degrees this week, with a brief rain-free period possibly on Tuesday or Wednesday. Temperatures might reach around 60 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday, but it will be cooler on Thursday and Friday. By the weekend, temperatures could rise to the 70s. Lundberg also noted that the second half of May would likely be warmer than the first half, with temperatures potentially averaging above normal. Rainfall is expected to be intermittent, with some stretches of up to five days without rain.
