Two major statewide debates scheduled at the same time left Maine voters and news organizations having to choose between the governor's race and the U.S. Senate race. Matt Gagnon discusses how the scheduling conflict affected coverage and viewership, questions whether personal attacks overshadow important policy differences, and considers whether Maine needs a better debate format to help voters make informed decisions.

The discussion focused on Maine’s projected $1.3 billion budget gap and questioned whether current proposals are realistic enough to close it.
