Recently a video from Allie Beth Stuckey surfaced in my feed. She is someone I generally respect. In fact, I subscribe to her channel. But, this particular video caught my eye. It is a response to the so-called “prosperity gospel” and a critique of Joel Osteen. According to Allie, this is a false gospel from hell and if you believe it you will never find Christ.
While it is popular to take a strong counterpoint and leverage the divisiveness it creates to build and establish an audience (Joel does this on one end of the spectrum and Allie does it on the other) - The Christian faith is much more nuanced. The bible must be useful for the rich Christian in Dallas and Christians in China who may face jail time for their beliefs. As a result, God uses a combination of varying emphasis and, through the Holy Spirit, personal conviction to guide His people in their Christian walk.
For brevity and clarity, I edited Allie's video down. I believe I kept the strength of her original argument. However, I recommend everyone having a look at the full video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXsMzzRjjEw
